A whole sh*tload of Spears…cause she’s out…for now.

February 7, 2008

When you don’t sleep, you get pretty good at updating…so here’s the Britney Roundup.

-Around 5:20 pm PT(Cali time), Britney and Adnan visit the office of Spears’ new attorny, Adam Streisand, hired to contest the conservatorship the court instated over the former pop star.

- Around 7:00pm PT, Britney managed to sneak out of Streisand’s office building and return to the Beverly Hills Hotel! According to a source, a paparazzo from Adnan’s photo agency, FinalPixx, snuck them out of the building by hiding Adnan and Brit under a black blanket in the back of his car.

- Back at the Beverly Hills Hotel, several of the police who were there earlier remain on the grounds as do a number of bodyguards who are keeping watch in the hotel’s parking garage.

- Shortly before 9:00pm PT, Brit’s father Jamie Spears arrived at the Beverly Hills Hotel. According to eyewitnesses, Jamie talks to the hotel’s concierge and waits in the lobby. “He looks very tired,” says one witness. “It looks like he just wants someone to help him out.”

- A few minutes later, Jamie was approached by the concierge and a pair of men who may have been plainclothes police officers or hotel security officials, who led him to a private conference room, where Brit’s father showed them what appear to be legal documents. Sources says Jamie is likely asking for the hotel’s cooperation in getting his daughter back to her home.

- Around 9:20pm PT, more police arrived at the Beverly Hills Hotel and begin gathering in the lobby, outside in the valet parking area and upstairs on the second floor of the hotel, where Britney and Adnan were holed up.

- At 9:30pm PT, Jamie Spears entered Britney’s room with what is believed to be legal documents in his hand. Meanwhile, down in the hotel’s private parking garage, a number of hotel guards are kept watch on Brit’s Mercedes.

And around 12:30 A.M. Pacific.(thats 3:30 a.m. to all us East Coasters) Dad Jamie and Adnan remain with Brit. Lynne went elsewhere.

Drama. Drama. Drama.

The Ledger Ledger.

February 6, 2008

The toxicology results are in, and the NY Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Heath Ledger’s death an accident based on using and abusing too many prescription medications.

The actor died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine.

The drugs are the generic names for the OxyContin painkiller, the anti-anxiety drug Valium, Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug, and the sleep aids Restoril and Unisom. Hydrocodone is another name for Vicodin, a painkiller.

His family released this statement:

While no medications were taken in excess, we learned today the combination of doctor-prescribed drugs proved lethal for our boy. Heath’s accidental death serves as a caution to the hidden dangers of combining prescription medication, even at low dosage.

Our family enjoyed an extremely happy two week visit with Heath just prior to the New Year. Those recent precious days will stay with us forever. We as a family feel privileged to have some of his amazing magic moments captured in film. To most of the world Heath was an actor of immeasurable talent and promise. To those who knew him personally, Heath was a consummate artist whose passions also included photography, music, chess and directing. We knew Heath as a loving father, as our devoted son, and as a loyal and generous brother and friend.

We treasure our beautiful granddaughter Matilda (to our dear Michelle) as well as an unbelievably wonderful network of close friends, forever, around the world. Families rarely experience the uplifting, warm and massive outpouring of grief and support as have we, from every corner of the planet. This has deeply and profoundly touched our hearts and lives. We are eternally grateful.

The magazines sure were busy today…

Confirmed: Two of the medications found at Heath Ledger’s apartment were Xanax and Valium, both anti-anxiety drugs. Cops also found Ambien, along with several medications prescribed in Europe.

The Heath Ledger Chronicles

January 23, 2008

Updates of the day:

Heath Ledger’s body will be undergoing an autopsy today.

– The actor, TMZ reported, was suffering from pneumonia at the time of his death. He had recently been filming in London shortly before his passing on Tuesday.

– Friends of the Australian actor are saying that they saw his death coming.(But US reported this so who knows if it’s a legitamate quote)
“Heath has gone though a rough road of trying to get sober,” reveals a pal.
Ledger’s substance abuse issues could be one of the reason for his split from Michelle Williams, mother to their two year old Matilda.

– Paps broke the news to Jack Nicholson in London. When he heard, all he said was “I warned him.” (I would have posted the video but thats all it was)

– Williams learned about Heaths death on location in Sweden, is devastated over the news of Ledger’s passing. And, although The New York Times has reported that Heath’s death is likely an overdose, his family is insisting that it was an accident, issuing this statement this morning:

“We, Heath’s family, confirm, the very tragic, untimely and accidental passing of our dearly loved son, brother and doting father of Matilda. He was found peacefully asleep in his New York apartment by his housekeeper at 3:30 p.m. U.S. time.

We would like to thank our friends and everyone around the world for their well wishes and kind thoughts at this time. Heath has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life but few had the pleasure of truly knowing him.

He was a down to earth, generous, kind-hearted, life-loving and selfless individual who was extremely inspirational to many. Please now respect our family’s need to grieve and come to terms with our loss privately.”

Several celebrities and producers have already issued condolences to Heath’s family:

“I had such great hope for him. He was just taking off and to lose his life at such a young age is a tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”Mel Gibson

“What a tragedy. My heart goes out to his family.”Nicole Kidman
(Sidenote: I wonder how Naomi is taking this? I think she never got over Heath…she wanted to marry him and have his kids-he wasn’t ready he said-but then he did just that with Michelle months later)

“Heath Ledger was a courageous actor, and a great soul. He gave us the gift of sharing his fearless and beautiful love – of his craft, and of all who worked with him – for which all of us will be eternally grateful.”
- Focus Features, producers of Brokeback Mountain

“The studio is stunned and devastated by this tragic news. The entertainment community has lost an enormous talent. Heath was a brilliant actor and an exceptional person. Our hearts go out to his family and friends.”

- Warner Bros., producers of The Dark Night

“It was with great sadness that I have learned of the passing of Heath Ledger. It is tragic that we have lost one of our nation’s finest actors in the prime of his life. Heath Ledger’s diverse and challenging roles will be remembered as some of the great performances by an Australian actor.”
- Kevin Rudd, Prime Minister of Australia

“This is an unimaginable tragedy. Heath was a true artist, a deeply sensitive man, an explorer, gifted and wise beyond his years. There is no finer person on this earth.”
- Todd Haynes, director of I’m Not There

Yup, still sad. Still a damn shame. Still finding out more.

January 22, 2008

Update:

So far the death does look accidental, insomnia partially to blame. In a recent interview Heath talked about how his role as the “Joker” in the new Batman movie was so demonic to him that he had trouble sleeping (An article in the New York Times two months ago is slightly forshadow-ey, he talks about stress, not being able to sleep, etc. You can read it here).

–Two bottles of sleeping aids were found, it’s being reported, one prescription bottle and one over-the-counter, which would make an accidental overdose more likely. Experts say that it is harder to overdose on just prescription sleeping pills. Friends also say he had a substance abuse problem, but he had not been in rehab.

This is one of the last photos taken of Heath. Why do ‘last’ photos always seem like they knew it was a ‘last’? He seems so happy and sad and lost at the same time. Creepy. It was taken Saturday night on the London set of “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.”

A moment of silence.

January 22, 2008

I am in a complete sad-shock. This is a bigger loss to the entertainment world than River Phoenix. Or a tie at least. Heath Ledger was found dead today in a New York City apartment owned by Mary-Kate Olsen. He was 28.

At 3:31 p.m., a masseuse arrived at Apartment 5A in the building for an appointment with Mr. Ledger, the police said. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Mr. Ledger’s bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger unconscious. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities.
The police said they did not suspect foul play. Officials said pills were found near the body
.

TMZ reported that when paramedics responded, the actor was in full cardiac arrest. They attempted to perform CPR on him, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He had dinner last night with his model girlfriend Gemma Ward. This is being looked at as a suicide or accidental overdose.

Story developing…

This is so tragic. I honestly thought he was one of those few actors with no huge issues. He was never in the tabloids, rarely seen out…so maybe it was depression…

Now I’m depressed.

Dark Knight is soon to be released too. And his last performance will probably be his best…
